Welcome to SUPER MARIO ODYSSEY SEASHINE ISLAND! A 2D 8-bit demake of Super Mario Odyssey! During their summer travels, Mario & Cappy have found a mysterious, tranquil island filled with secrets and surprises. Will you be able to find all the Power Moons lost in this paradise?

This is an expanded version of the original fangame I made on the Scratch website, which you can check out here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/710746026/.

The basic controls are listed in-game, and are also customizable if needed. The downloadable version also contains controller support and uses interpolation. More details are listed in the text file below, including the whole list of resources and assets that were used. A video walkthrough of the entire game is also available below. And, of course, thank you for playing my game! Please let me know of any other ideas or suggestions you may have!

Great job, especially for a scratch game! Love the tileset as well. I think more features is all this game could improve on, everything so far is pretty much perfect.

Thank you! I still have lots of ideas, so I definitely plan to revisit the game in the future

It might be neat and helpful to use a more sophisticated programming language for this project, such as JavaScript, C# and C++.

You might also add WASD support.

I am currently making another Mario Odyssey game in JavaScript. Also, you can change the controls in the pause menu of the game.

Oh, didn't see that. Sounds great. Using canvas API or a library?

I am using Phaser 3 to create it. There were several tricky roadblocks I had to figure out but overall I am making good progress. Here is one of my old prototypes if you are interested: https://github.com/mariofan235/Odyssey_Maker

I have let's played and loved this game, the graphics, the gameplay and the controls are very fun! I broke the game and I couldn't pickup all keys, but I didn't read the instructions, maybe that's why.
